Danya Yu is an accountant-turned-artist who graduated with a First Class Degree (Hon) from Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts and Loughborough University, UK. She specialises in Western Painting and large format façade art. She is currently the Chairman of Telok Kurau Studios and a full time artist. Apart from regularly participating in exhibitions, she has also showcased her works within South East Asia such as Affordable Art, Singapore and HK, Malaysia Expo, and art fairs in Vietnam, Indonesia and China. Her works have been selected to represent Singapore for Shenzhen Oil Painting Biennale, 2018 and AAM International Art Fair 2020. Her collectors range from local and overseas individuals to MNCs, such as Far East shipping company and Shanghai Development Bank, Singapore branch.
Danya is active in creating large format public art. From 2015-2019, she was awarded 9 public art projects commissioned by Passion Arts and other government institutions. She was the lead artist for LTA (Singapore Land Transport Authority) art project of Holland Village MRT Station in 2014. From 2017-2018, she was selected and commissioned by NAC for ‘ Taman Jurong Our Gallery’ open call. In 2019, she was the featured artist and media representative for Passion Art’s islandwide program ‘let’s paint together’.
