Born on October 21, 1977 in Tasikmalaya, West Java, Dadi Setiyadi is a talented emerging artist from Indonesia. Setiyadi has particular interest in fantasy, science fiction and art culture.
This fascination stemmed from his 2004 study into the symbol of the Indonesian Archipelago through a project on Indonesian folklore entitled “Penelusuran Kisah Nuisantara”. It was then that he discovered an emotional connection to the fantastical and mythical world.
All of these influences create a unique syncretism to his art by combining traditional local elements inspired by the environment with living traditions, and modern and contemporary subjects.
